I thought I'd do a little series on Frisbee games, or outdoor sports, since I'm on a roll.  I did a little digging when I was looking up information on frisbee golf, to refresh my memory, and found a game called Guts.  First thing I thought when I saw that outdoor sport was, is this the same as War?  As I read further I found they were different games.  As far as outdoor sports go, Guts is the one that you will probably throw something at me for bringing it up.  The reason for that is because it's like dodge ball, but with a frisbee.

I know there are some people that think dodge ball should be banned, that it's a cruel, game, but it's not that evil.  Guts is the same thing, just a fun game, as long as you're not intentionally trying to hurt anyone.  Now, onto the rules of the game of this outdoor sport....

Guts consists of two teams, five players each, the teams standing parallel to each other.  They stand about 46 feet apart from the opposing team, each person standing arms length apart.  One person from the opposing team trows the frisbee to the other team, trying to aim for the area between people so that it would not be a clean catch.  All catches need to be made one handed, and you can't use your body or drop the disc.  If the opposing team cleanly catches the disc they score a point.  The goal is to get 21 points.  Much like some of the other outdoor sports, when you caught the frisbee, you can't walk with it.  You have to toss it from where you're standing.  You can read more about it and leagues on the guts frisbee website.
